Seller Help
How can I sell here?
Anybody can create group buys or list products, however we clearly indicate
which vendors are 'Authorized', and which ones are not. To be an authorized vendor, you must:
-
Have a valid business phone where you can take orders.
-
Have a valid business license or other document to establish your company's
legal existance.
-
Complete THIS AGREEMENT and then
fax it to 877-652-8046.
What does it cost to sell here?
GroupBuyCenter.com will always remain free for buyers. For a limited time, sellers (or vendors),
have the following reduced fees for listing products and no fees for listing group buys:
-
Featured Products $5 Per Product (Optional - One Time)
-
Featured Vendor $20 Per Month (Optional)
How do I create a group buy?
To create a group buy or sell an item you must be logged in. To login go to
the logon page or the home page
and click the login link. Use the links on the Group Buy page to create group
buys for your products. Use the add products link on the Browse tab to add
products, or use links on the dashboard page to upload, add or edit products or
group buys.
Tell me about the 'No Duplicate Group Buy' rule.
We only allow 1 real Group Buy for the same item at the same
time. Duplicate group buys create a lot of problems for both the buyer and
vendor. Duplicate Group Buys make it difficult for vendors to retain buyers and
make a small profit especially when a certain quantity is required for the
pricing. The whole concept of Group Buys is GROUP buying. We try to
let every vendor have a chance, and there are exceptions, but it's mostly a
first come first post rule. Vendors should not post another Group Buy for the
same item, until the first one is closed.
Here is how the rule works.
-
If an existing real
Group Buy is open, do not create another real Group Buy of the same item.
-
Do not post your group buy until the other one
closes after midnight (EST) on the Ending Date.
-
If you have a Group Buy open, don't post yours again, you cannot duplicate your
own Group Buy.
-
You are not allowed to host a Group Buy back to back, unless no other
vendor creates one like it. Any other vendor has an 8 hour
window to create their Group Buy, then your in the clear for another Group Buy.
-
You CAN have products listed or create a regular Sale that is NOT a group buy,
and this is NOT covered under this no duplicate rule, but it must conform to
rules for Sales below.
-
You MAY bundle items in a SET or a KIT if they are related, even if another
vendor is selling one of those items. For example you put up a Group
Buy for a suspension kit of shocks and springs, even if the exact
springs already exist in another Group Buy, but you must indicate on your Group
Buy, they are NOT sold separate, and ONLY as a kit.
What is the difference between 'Products' and 'Group Buys'?
Any vendor can upload or add products that they sell. A Group Buy is including
existing products that you have created or uploaded into a sale called a Group
Buy. A group buy is a good way to sell large volumes of given product, organize a group order of special kits or even dispose of excess inventory.
Note that a group buy must offer some advantage for gathering a group of buyers, either a special price or a custom product not generally available.
When a user clicks Products on the website, they can find all products that exist, in or out of a
group buy.
How do I upload my products?
You can upload all your products to this website.
Click here to download instructions (Adobe PDF) on how to list your
auto parts & accessories on GroupBuyCenter.com! If you have any questions
about any other datafeeds, please email us.
A member put some incorrect rating or comments on one of my
group buys.
While infrequent, site members might 'slam' you. 'Slamming' is a term we
use, when a buyer posts comments about your buy that are false, misleading
or damaging to your company name. When you see these comments on your
discussion for your buy, you can simply hide them, so others cannot see them,
except for you. If you see any abuse in this fashion, please contact us
and the issue will be addressed ASAP.
How am I notified about purchases or other actions on
GroupBuyCenter.com?
You will received an email notification when somebody leaves a comment on your
buy or joins your buy or purchase an item. Please do not reply to those
emails, rather, use the link to come back to the site and reply to the
comment.
How do I put images or other cool things on my products or
group buys?
A common question is how to put images on a group buy or product listing.
You can enter HTML on your buy description, including the HTML IMG
tag. To put images on your buy, use the HTML IMG tag. For example,
you would type
<IMG SRC="http://www.yourserver.com/yourimage.jpg">
Our website supports most major HTML tags. Please don't include HTML tags such
as BODY or FORM however.
Why do you delete group buys with no participants after 14
days?
Some Group Buys have prices that are too high or maybe the products are not in
high demand. After 14 days if a buy has no participants that buy will
automatically be closed and placed in the archive. This rule does not apply to
featured or premium buys, or buys where the vendor has paid to list it on a
partner site, if the listing is $5 or more. This makes the site cleaner,
containing only high demand low priced buys. If a vendor posts a buy, and
it has been closed due to this rule they can repost it at any time. This
rule also makes it possible for other vendors to enter the market here, since
we don't allow duplicate real group buys.
How do I override
GroupBuyCenter.com formatting my preformatted HTML?
If in the body or context of your group buy
you have Carriage Returns (Enter's) or Control - Line Feed Characters (that is
anytime you hit the enter key in the text box for a NEW line), when your
listing is rendered we put the <BR> tag so that it appears to a visitor
just like you typed it. HOWEVER, IF you've entered HTML, you may not want your
line feed characters to be replaced with <BR>'s.
To over-ride this feature, simply add this tag in your HTML text.
<OVERRIDE ON>
For example:
<OVERRIDE ON><p>This is my listing
please don't add <BR>'s to it</p>
